Two Ways to Get the Map
You can read a book about the second org chart once it publishes. Or you can spend twelve weeks building yours with the person writing it -- and have your name in it when it does.
About the Book.
The Second Org Chart: The Power Framework for Black Executive Leadership
Coming Soon
You have done everything right.
You got the education. You delivered the results. You mastered every requirement the institution put in front of you. You have been told you have potential. You have been told you are on the right track. You have been referred, nominated, considered, and passed over.
And you cannot quite prove why.
That gap — between what you know is happening and what you can prove is happening — is not a personal failure. It is the most sophisticated feature of a system that was not designed to advance you and has learned, over generations, to make that fact deniable.
The Second Org Chart names what the system will not name. It maps what no one hands you. And it gives you a framework for building the kind of power that does not require you to disappear to access it.
Every organization has two org charts. The first is the one they hand you on day one. The second is the one where your future is actually being decided. Black executives are almost exclusively evaluated and advanced through the second chart while being trained only for the first.
This book closes that gap.
Running through all five chapters is Daya Adeyemi — a first-generation Nigerian American compliance consultant who arrives resistant, excellent, and without a map. You will watch her stop solving the wrong problem. You will watch her get the seat. And you will watch what she does with it.
Daya is not exceptional. That is the point. She is what happens when a brilliant person who has been navigating a system not built for them finally gets the map the system was never going to hand them.
The map exists. This book is what it looks like.
Excellence is your baseline. Strategy is your leverage. Authenticity is your power.
The coaching world has been telling you the problem is you.
Work on your executive presence. Show up more confidently. Be more strategic. Build your personal brand.
And you have been doing all of that.
And you are still being passed over.
The problem is not your performance. The problem is that you have been given tools for the wrong game. Every organization has two org charts. The first is the one they hand you on day one. The second is the one where the real decisions about your future are being made.
No one hands you the second one.Until now
The POWER Framework
Five letters. One map. Built from twenty-five years of coaching Black executives in predominantly White institutions.
P — Position · Map the second org chart
O — Own · Lead from your full identity
W — Wield · Build influence that moves decisions
E — Elevate · Hand the map to the person behind you
R — Reshape · Change the system from your seat
This Program was built for you if...
-
You have been passed over in ways you cannot quite prove but know with complete certainty
-
You have mastered the institution's codes and still find yourself outside the rooms where decisions are made
-
You are excellent and you know it — and you are ready for a strategy that matches that excellence
-
You are not at the beginning of your career. You are at the moment where excellence alone has stopped being enough.
This program is designed specifically for Black executives, directors, vice presidents, and emerging senior leaders navigating predominantly White institutions. It is not designed for White allies or organizational DEI efforts. That work is important. This is a different room.
